Flora Europaea perennial, H xeric steppe species (in the nemoral areas and in the forest-steppe only on sunny steep clines) continental Eurasian Agropyro-Kochion, Festucion valesiacae, rare in Puccinelio-Salicornietea (Chifu et al. 2006) R34 habitats, R3130, R3131       In Transylvania, this species is located only in the southern part of the region, usually at the upper part of the slopes. Though congeneric and sharing the sa me character - the lack of the ligulae - the two species are not immediate and not even closely related in the context of the genus Aster. You can easily spot the great differences between the two, especially in concerning the structure of the anthodia.
